Wednesday 14th July

We started the day in Jinja with a visit to the branch office and a meeting with William the branch Co-ordinator. It was good to catch up with William and discuss the project and reflect on the success of last year’s project. It was reported that the project was an amazing success with the local community being inspired to become volunteers of the Red Cross and offer funding for other activities. We will be running through the streets of Jinja with an escort next week and if its anything like last year, it will be an amazing success...
Following the meeting we continued down the route of the run and caught up with old friends. We met Joseph who sells tea at the tea plantation (the best tea in the world) and he was pleased to hear that we were running again...

After the success of the past few days we had some challenges with meeting the team in Mukono, Kampala East and some sponsors. Unfortunately the branch co-ordinator at Kampala East had to attend the funeral of a family member following the bombings. The day finished with a 40minute jog around Kampala and a catch up on the plans for the next few days.
